one river
There is a recent surge in artists embracing the making of journeys as part of their practice (Tuffnell p.130). Rethinking art about process as much as of the finished works directs the art making at a visceral level.
The one river project is about making connections, being one river but many rivers in a system working in different ways. I'm looking forward to hearing a variety of stories, perspectives and experiences about the river and other water systems, including the Great Artesian Basin.
The above photos were mainly taken in 2006 when waters from the north came down the dry river bed in the Maranoa River. The pelicans are situated on a watercourse in the Mungallalla region.
Hi Jude....love your work!!!! Your drawings are divine. Would like to join a workshop/class this year....have you anything planned for Brisbane? Regards, Robyn.
